Beginning in the late Fall of 2008 and spilling over into the beginning of 2009, Fischer Bros undertook the daunting task of replacing concrete decking on two slide towers in Weston, WI. The original concrete was poured into galvanized, corrugated pans, which rusted as a result of trapped water, creating an eyesore and a potentially dangerous situation. Along with structural engineers, Fischer Bros. designed a system of steel supports to supplement the existing structure and support new fiberglass decking.
Strongwell T-3300 2” was chosen for its strength and small gap design, and the result is amazing. This product is incredibly strong, spanning spaces of nearly four feet with virtually no deflection, it is attractive, slip resistant, and long lasting.
We feel that the solution we have engineered for this project is one that can be applied to many slide and non-slide towers across the country which are experiencing the same problems with corrosion. If you manage or own one of these deteriorating concrete-steel towers, we urge you to contact us for a quote.
