The original concrete was poured into galvanized, corrugated pans, which rusted as a result of trapped water, creating an eyesore and a potentially dangerous situation. Along with structural engineers, Fischer Bros. designed a system of steel supports to supplement the existing structure and support new fiberglass decking.

Strongwell T-3300 2” was chosen for its strength and small gap design, and the result is amazing. This product is incredibly strong, spanning spaces of nearly four feet with virtually no deflection, it is attractive, slip resistant, and long lasting.

We feel that the solution we have engineered for this project is one that can be applied to many slide and non-slide towers across the country which are experiencing the same problems with corrosion. If you manage or own one of these deteriorating concrete-steel towers, we urge you to contact us for a quote.

This slide had very serious gelcoat deterioration with fibers exposed on the entire exterior surface, Fischer Bros applied a coating to end further degradation and restore beauty and gloss.  Without this restoration, the slide would have had to be replaced within a few years.

The harsh indoor waterpark environment caused serious corrosion of steel components and deterioration of the vinyl decking.  Fischer Bros  was  called in to remove all rust on the structure,  recoat the steel, and replace the decking.   The entire staircase was carefully disassembled, recoated, and reassembled.  Mineral buildup was also removed from the interior surface of the slide, and the entire surface buffed to a like-new condition.

Fischer Bros. restored this 15+ year old slide early in 2009. The harsh indoor environment had taken its toll on the fiberglass, inside and out. The vivid color selection made this an especially rewarding project.

Maryland Heights, Missouri – Spring 2009

In 2009, Fischer Bros was asked to recoat the interior of Aquaport’s largest slide, a 285′ raft slide which had seen about 12 seasons of continuous use. The slide was beginning to leak substantially, and the interior surface appeared dull and blotchy. Our restoration process brought it back to a like new condition, and all of the leaks have been eliminated. This slide is really something to see!

While on site, we completed maintenance on several other slides within the facility. Leaks were eliminated, and slides were buffed, recaulked, and pressure washed. The result is a fresh, clean look for this popular waterpark.
